Learn Database DevOps With Redgate

People, Process, Tools.
That’s the order in which to place your priorities when attempting to implement DevOps within any organization. Join the Redgate Advocate team as they take an entire day to address how to do database DevOps. We will be following that same pattern, helping you first understand the importance of people in DevOps. Then we’ll be working through the various process steps, best practices, and mechanisms, all in support of making your database deployments safer, as well as faster and more frequent. Finally, we’ll be finishing up showing you various tools from Azure DevOps to AWS Developer Tools and Github Actions, all in support of making your database deployments automated. Along the way, we’ll also show you some Redgate products that make the whole thing easier.

Short Description
- Learn database DevOps using Redgate Software.
Should delegates bring a laptop with them?
- No
What software and licences do they need?
- None should be required. They are free to follow along, but won't need anything.
What is the structure of the day?
- The start of the day we'll cover what we mean we say "DevOps" and the benefits that style of approach offers. We'll then be focusing on the environments, processes, and finally, tools, that let you meet the challenges of automating database deployments. Demos are scattered throughout the day. We'll be covering a variety of management platforms from Azure DevOps, to AWS Developer Tools, to GitHub Actions and others in between. Also, multiple database platforms will be used in order to show, as much as possible, automation can be done, regardless of platform or system.
What internet requirements do the delegates have?
- None for the session unless they want to follow along.
What will the delegates get out of the day?
- The main message of the day will be to get people to understand how exactly to set up a Continuous Integration pipeline. If you can get your database code into version control and then use that code to automate database deployment through a CI process, automating everything else is just labor.
Other technologies
- DevOps, Azure DevOps, AWS Developer Tools, Github, Github Actions
