PBI Premium Gen2 or: how I learned to stop worrying and love vertipaq
All you hear from Microsoft these days is "Azure, Azure, Azure". We'll we're from Microsoft*, and we're here to tell you: never use Azure ... Analysis Services.
Instead use Power BI Premium.
This talk is for people with existing AAS or SSAS tabular models or considering a new project on those platforms.
We'll discuss how a combination of Gen2 and premium per user gives you everything you want from AAS and more in a much more cost-effective manner. We’ll talk briefly about the ways that Power BI premium has recently gained parity with Analysis Services, and how its different. Important areas are development and deployment options and partition management.
